- “Politics and Love” is a reinterpretation of “Religion and Sentiment”, one of the 10 chapters in “The History Show” at the Kunstverein in Hamburg. It recontextualizes a 19th-century category within contemporary society. The project comprises three parts: a manifesto titled “On Politics, On Love, On Das Archipel”; a video “Das Archipel, Politics and Love”; and a sound performance by Lisa Schmalz and Pauline Jacob. “The History Show” commemorates the Kunstverein in Hamburg's 200-year role in Hamburg's cultural scene. The project is complemented by the “Biennale des Friedens” at the Kunstverein Hamburg (1985), adding depth to the themes of Love and Politics.
